The Black Whale House opened in 1936 and was founded by the Perc\u00e9 Craft Guild to promote the work of local artisans. The establishment also served as a community and cultural center for the inhabitants of the region at the time.
The heritage of the Black Whale House is at the heart of the experience we wish to offer our visitors. Indeed, our restaurant is a friendly meeting place, where everyone is invited to come and celebrate Gaspesian culture while enjoying a good food.<\/p>\n

Our establishment is not only a restaurant, it is also a meeting place to celebrate Gaspesian culture. As an extension of the historical heritage of the Black Whale House, we have set up a Restaurant-Boutique section, where you can discover and purchase the works of local artisans.<\/p>\n

The Nath & Compagnie product line is also available in our Restaurant-Boutique, including our postcards, notebooks, wrapping paper, as well as our brand new collection dedicated to tableware. This collection includes tablecloths, placemats, ceramics, aprons, candlesticks, cups, plates and dish linens, all made in Gasp\u00e9sie and screen printed in Perc\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Take the spiral staircase to the second floor and discover our used bookstore, where you can browse through a varied selection of thousands of second-hand books.<\/p>\n

A boutique with ecological products<\/h3>\n

The protection of the environment being at the heart of Nath & Compagnie’s values, the printed products for sale in our store are made from 100% recycled and recyclable paper, which comes from an FSC certified forest.<\/p>\n

Moreover, we do business with a Quebec printer who recycles 90% of the solvents, excess paper and wastewater from the printing process.<\/p>\n
